Dr. Nicolas Guggenheim heads the Heraeus Medical Components Global Business Unit.
He joined Heraeus in 2003 as head of the Medical Components Division when Heraeus Precious Metals acquired a division of Schweizer Metalor Technologies. At Metalor he was head of a medical technology division. Previously, he held senior management positions in product development and marketing for various companies in the field of orthopaedic and trauma surgery implants. In the interim, he founded and led a successful start-up in the high-tech sector.
Nicolas Guggenheim studied physics at the University of Geneva, where he also completed his doctorate in biophysics. In addition, he holds a master's degree in Business Administration.
He was born in Switzerland and has two children.
