Have you yammered today?

At fiftyONE, our focus is on communication and cooperation. To share knowledge quickly and easily, the development community uses the online platform Yammer as a communication tool.

Jan Leitloff talks about working with Yammer in the developer community.
Yammer enables transparency and speed when exchanging information.

As Albert Einstein once said, "progress lives from the exchange of knowledge". Yammer is a tool that is used as a multiplier for the entire body of knowledge at Heraeus. It shows interfaces and synergies in the fiftyONE development community that would have remained undiscovered without interdisciplinary cooperation. Through a fast and uncomplicated exchange via Yammer it is possible to reach the right experts in order to solve a particular problem. Be it searching for a specific laboratory device, ideas within the scope of a project or even the right project members. I can post my question on the platform and reach exactly the right people who can help me - quickly and easily. It allows people to get together quickly, even across disciplines. For example, we achieve better equipment utilization and reduce waiting times in the laboratory. In addition, we benefit from the pooling of specialist knowledge, which enables integrated product development.

Yammer is a tool that connects. Events that otherwise only took place in one department are shared via Yammer and are thus also accessible to other developers. Here at fiftyONE everyone is integrated via Yammer. This leads to transparency and speed. This is an advantage for all of us, because it makes it possible to speed up processes and work more progressively. Yammer supports us in an open and interdisciplinary exchange of ideas. This motivates and reinforces our innovative strength.
