The Heraeus Die Top System is an electronic packaging system used among others in inverters. It reduces thermal stress and increases a module’s lifetime. By enabling the use of copper wire in combination with sinter technology, it significantly improves the electrical, thermal and reliability performance of die connections and positively affects the performance of the entire module:

  • Up to 20x higher module lifetime.
  • Higher temperature resistance allows for junction temperatures of e.g. 200°C.

More efficient catalysts for PEM Electrolysis

Generation of Hydrogen via PEM electrolysis from excess energy of renewables is the key factor to realize clean mobility and affordable energy storage.

Today, 95% of all hydrogen is produced from fossil resources. Renewables are the only clean alternative.

Generation of hydrogen via Polymer Eletrolyte Membrane (PEM) electrolysis from excess renewable energy is a key factor in making clean mobility and affordable energy storage a reality – if it can be competitive.

For clean hydrogen to be competitive, the overall efficiency of hydrogen generation via PEM electrolysis must be increased. With oxygen evolution reaction (OER) limiting overall performance, the efficiency of hydrogen generation with platinum-based cathode material strongly depends on the anode catalyst material.
