Kleinostheim, Germany and Anseong, South Korea, May 1, 2022 – Heraeus Conamic, a leading-edge material specialist for the manufacturing and processing of the industry’s highest purity fused silica, announced in November 2021 it has acquired the Korean company HS Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. (HSAM), a converter and distributor of semi-finished quartz materials for the semiconductor and other industries. Effective May 1st, 2022, the former business of HSAM is fully integrated into Heraeus Conamic and operates under the company name Heraeus Korea Corporation.

Since the acquisition of HSAM in November 2021, we have already made huge progress in strengthening our presence as a supplier of quartz base materials in Korea. By operating under the roof of Heraeus Korea effective May 1st, 2022, our Korean business will benefit even more from the reputation and strength of the Heraeus Group.”

As part of its growth strategy, the business has already relocated to a new and bigger site in Anseong, roughly 20 kilometers from its old location.

The Heraeus Conamic quartz business in Korea offers semi-finished quartz products to quartz fabricators in Korea and worldwide and provides the entire portfolio of quartz base materials, e. g. quartz rings, ingots, plates, rods, tubes. The quartz conversion capabilities include various technologies, such as wire saws, band saws, core drilling, lathe cutting and grinding.
