At the end of surgery, the knee is closed up. Muscles are sutured and the wound is closed using sutures or staples. A fixed bandage is applied and a final X-ray image taken to check the exact fit of the knee endoprosthesis. The skin staples or sutures are generally removed after 10 to 20 days.
