On 22 February 2022, Heraeus Noblelight handed over a donation of €2,500 to the Albert Schweitzer Children's Village in Hanau. This sum was raised by the employee campaign #WeFightForYourHealth of the expert for UV disinfection. In addition, a meeting room of the children's village was equipped with a  Soluva® air purifier developed by Heraeus Noblelight.

How did the campaign come about?

 Soluva UV disinfection devices for indoor air and surfaces were much in demand during the Corona pandemic. The project manager at the time, Amanda Rath, wanted to thank the employees for their efforts with a T-shirt. This gave rise to the idea of the #WeFightForYourHealth campaign. All employees had the opportunity to participate with their campaign shirt. For each picture taken with the shirt, Heraeus Noblelight donated 20 euros to the Albert Schweitzer Children's Village. This donation was now handed over to the Albert Schweitzer Children's Village by Christian Brauchle, Soluva Project Manager and Amanda Rath.

The Children's Village is very happy about this. The number of children and families in need of intensive support and assistance is increasing every year. Currently, the Albert Schweitzer Children's Village cares for 260 children and adolescents on an inpatient or day-care basis and an additional 300 families on an outpatient basis. "The new UV air purification device in the meeting room helps to minimise the risk of infection," sums up Susanne Högler, Head of Public Relations at the Albert Schweitzer Children's Village in Hanau, "This means we can continue to provide intensive care for the children and young people!" The donation will enable a resident of the children's village to continue her very expensive riding therapy for another year.

Action #WeFightForYourHealth took place worldwide

Not only the employees at the German location of Heraeus Noblelight could participate in the campaign. Money was also diligently donated to regional charities at the sites in the USA, Great Britain, Korea and China. This resulted in a total donation of almost €5,000.
