Bright and brilliant paints on glass and ceramics requires safe solutions for drying and curing. The colour must be completely dried or cured before the printed glass can be processed.
Depending on the paint and the shape of the material, UV lamps, IR emitters or a combination of both are used for drying and curing.

Innovation: IR heat technology

MAX infrared ovens temper glass five times faster

Glass packaging for medication or tablets must be tempered after forming under heat, otherwise the thermal stresses can lead to glass bottles or ampoules bursting or cracking. Innovative MAX infrared ovens carries out this stress relief process in a very homogeneous IR radiation field in only a few minutes, unlike conventional thermal processes. The IR method saves a considerable amount of space and time compared with conventional ovens. One reason: the oven passage only needs to be two metres long, and the long heat-up and cool-down times required by ovens in batch operation are no longer necessary.

Compared with conventional electrical heating methods, the heating process for glass with a MAX oven is five times faster and provides energy savings of over 90%.
