Bright and brilliant paints on glass and ceramics requires safe solutions for drying and curing. The colour must be completely dried or cured before the printed glass can be processed.
Depending on the paint and the shape of the material, UV lamps, IR emitters or a combination of both are used for drying and curing.

Innovation: IR heat technology
MAX infrared ovens temper glass five times faster
Glass packaging for medication or tablets must be tempered after forming under heat, otherwise the thermal stresses can lead to glass bottles or ampoules bursting or cracking. Innovative MAX infrared ovens carries out this stress relief process in a very homogeneous IR radiation field in only a few minutes, unlike conventional thermal processes. The IR method saves a considerable amount of space and time compared with conventional ovens. One reason: the oven passage only needs to be two metres long, and the long heat-up and cool-down times required by ovens in batch operation are no longer necessary.
Compared with conventional electrical heating methods, the heating process for glass with a MAX oven is five times faster and provides energy savings of over 90%.
Innovation: UV LED technology
"Complexity made simple" - the new UV LED system fulfils five customer requirements at once.
Heraeus Noblelight is revolutionising the UV LED market with Semray® The UV LED plug&play solution for innovative and efficient curing processes is celebrating its world première - this time at the glasstec.
Industrial printing and curing processes are complex processes requiring a lot of experience and application know-how . Everyone knows how important a reliable curing system is to manufacture on schedule, minimise waiting times and still deliver brilliant quality. Especially today, processes must be ever more efficient and time-saving. The innovative UV LED plug&play solution Semray® from Heraeus Noblelight fulfils these demanding requirements. The UV specialist has combined its competences in the field of handling and production of specialty light sources: "We have accepted the challenges presented by our customers and developed Semray®, a functional and multifaceted system, which is easy to integrate and user-friendly," explains Dr. Michael Peil, head of sales for UV Solutions for Europe at Heraeus Noblelight. "The new LED system is very versatile and fulfils many different curing process requirements without sacrificing quality and performance."
