Fiberlight module

Fiberlight is a compact UV-Vis light source designed for mobile spectroscopy applications and all types of handheld devices that require a low power consumption UV-Vis light source. It has a continuous spectrum covering the whole range from vacuum UV to near Infrared.

The Fiberlight Module is a complete UV-Vis light source with a shine-through design deuterium lamp, a 0.25 Watt tungsten lamp, shutter, optical system and SMA 905 connector. All elements are mounted on a printed circuit board driven by an external 12 Vdc/600 mA power supply. Both lamps and the shutter can be separately controlled by a TTL signal.

Fiberlight is available in different versions: standard or extended wavelength range and either focused (with an optical fiber connection) or quasi-parallel light output. Different PCB layouts to fit any compact instrument design can be built to your specific dimensional requirements.

Types and accessories

  • 10W High Power FiberLight
    The 10W High Power FiberLight version offers double UV light output and similar compact size. Higher power means shorter integration time for faster response and lower detection limits; while still small size suitable for portable operation.
  • NOx lamps
    An EDL lamp with a nitrogen/oxygen mixture gas filling emitting a spectrum in the wavelength range between 200 and 600 nm. Spectral lines in the range around 200 nm can be used for detection of NO and NO², H²S, NH³ and other compounds. Heraeus has many years of experience in the production of such UV light sources and cooperates closely with the relevant OEMs in the fields of environmental protection and control of process gases.
  • Deuterium and Tungsten Halogen Fiber Coupled Light Source
    The Heraeus HST-DB566 light source has deuterium and tungsten halogen lamps designed to provide spectral output from 190 nm to 2,500 nm. Coupled with a convenient SMA fiber connection, this table top light source offers ease and flexibility for spectroscopic and photon applications. Its small lightweight stand-alone construction includes a DB-15 and a software external control option. Furthermore it provides UV to near infrared light output for spectroscopy, metrology or photochemistry and owns a better signal to noise ratio.
    In summary the HST-DB566 utilizes the latest technology in deuterium lamps that offers higher intensity, longer life and reduced complexity for users.
