1. Contamination

Gas catalytic infrared ovens are very well suited for powder coating. However, if the powder settles on the heating panels, they will stop working properly.
Therefore, it should be ensured that the powder only gets to places where it is supposed to go. If a panel is dirty, it must be replaced.

2. Wrong ventilation

The gas catalytic process requires gas and oxygen. No pressurized air is needed, but if too little air reaches the heating panels, it can result in a decrease in performance. A guideline: 1m³ air per hour per 1 kW of thermal power.

3. Skimping on preheating

Gas catalytic heating panels require pre-heating to start the actual catalytic process. It is not a good idea to save here and to operate the preheating with too low voltage.

The heating panel shows which voltage it needs - and you have to adhere to it!

4. Not paying attention to the type of gas

Gas-catalyzed infrared systems are usually operated with natural gas or pro-pane. These gases have different characteristics and therefore require different-ly designed heating panels to ensure optimum heat transfer. 5. Not using the know-how of our application experts!
