Customers in the US, Europe and India will benefit significantly from the combined know-how of Umicore and Heraeus Functional Materials. To accommodate the production machines, Heraeus will set-up a new facility at its Indian joint venture Choksi Heraeus in Udaipur.

“As the demand for electricity is constantly increasing, silver contact materials will play a more significant role in the future. This expansion will thus enable us to our increase capacity and our technological know-how and allows us to better respond to our global customer needs,” explains André Christl, President of Heraeus Precious Metals.

“We are expanding our portfolio with important functional products and are opening up new global markets. Silver is a well-established contact material and the market promises enormous potential. Customers are already contacting us,” says Kishore Choksi, Managing Director of Choksi Heraeus.
