Industrial infrared drying of coatings, paints and varnishes

Many coatings, paints and varnishes require heat: Water and water-based varnishes are dried, powder coating is gelled and cured. Infrared heat emitters dry water-based wet coatings especially efficiently and can considerably accelerate the melting of powder coatings.

Industrial infrared drying of coatings

Careful adjustment of the infrared emitters as to wavelength, shape and power output to the properties of the product to be heated is essential to the result. Radiation precisely adjusted to the paint's absorption properties is rapidly converted into heat inside the paint, and  water and other solvents evaporate , while the material and the surroundings remain cooler and are spared. In this way, infrared drying speeds up production, improves quality and at the same time saves energy and costs.

Infrared boosters

Production bottlenecks often occur as a result of tougher production demands, where the existing drying system can no longer keep pace. This can often be solved by an  infrared booster section , which is positioned in front of the existing drying system.

Your advantages with infrared drying

  • Heating requires no contact
  • High heat transmission capacity
  • Wavelength adjusted to the substrate and the paint system
  • Short response times enable good control and regulation
