Heinz Fabian was born in Haren, Germany in 1961. He studied Physics at University of Muenster and the University of California Irvine. He began his career with Heraeus Quarzglas GmbH & Co. KG in Hanau in 1988. As a R&D project manager in the Silica Glass for Optical Fibers Division, he worked on optimizing the optical properties of synthetic fused silica, later becoming Head of Product Development and Technical Customer Support.
In 1996, Mr. Fabian joined the Semiconductors Division as Managing Director, where he launched a German-Japanese joint venture company in Singapore. Upon his return to Germany, he was named Head of the Chemical Industries Division and took over responsibility for building a new manufacturing facility in Bitterfeld.
In 1999, Heinz Fabian was appointed Development Director in the Silica Glass for Optical Fibers Division. Two years later he became Chief Technical Officer of Heraeus Tenevo, responsible for product and process development. In January 2005, he was appointed Managing Director of Heraeus Tenevo, until Tenevo merged with Heraeus Quarzglas GmbH & Co. KG again in early 2007.
Heinz Fabian is married and has two children.
