Our unique combination of high efficiency reflectors and modular microwave-powered UV lamps provide the most effective, reliable, and consistent curing that today’s high speed production environments demand.

Optical fiber draw towers, coloring and coating processes rely on Heraeus UV curing systems for their 24/7 operations to avoid costly downtime. We also offer systems for high speed inkjet marking of cable jacketing and other printing and curing applications on linear products such as plastic extrusions, FRP strength members, wire, and cables.

High Efficiency Reflectors

A unique, patented secondary reflector from Heraeus Noblelight America collects UV energy and delivers it uniformly around the target. In combination with the small diameter, high radiance electrodeless bulbs, the high efficiency reflector produces the highest UV irradiance per watt of power of any UV lamp curing system.

Modular UV Lamps

Our modular, 6-inch or 10-inch, UV curing lamp design enables flexibility for configuring lamps on draw towers, coloring lines, coating systems, and wire or cable marking lines. The modular design facilitates easy maintenance and replacement as well as control flexibility.

These UV curing systems are used for curing photoresponsive coatings, coloring inks, and ribbon matrix polymers in the production of optical fiber and cable. Heraeus’ microwave-powered UV curing system for optical fiber, the DRF System, includes:

  • Electrodeless bulb available in different spectral outputs
  • Lamp module, either 6-inch or 10-inch, and choice of power levels
  • Power supply matched to lamp module
  • Light shield and secondary elliptical reflector housing (F6 for 6-inch or F10T for 10-inch), with secondary reflector, quartz tube, nitrogen fittings (optional)
  • Blowers for cooling air matched to the system (optional)

UV curing system F10T2


An optional light shield with secondary elliptical reflector housing, the F10T2, is available which enables observation of the product being cured and makes inspection and maintenance of the quartz tube, bulb and reflector very easy.

These UV curing systems are used for curing inks and coatings on wire, cable, and other linear products. They are especially suited for high speed inkjet marking of cable jacketing. Heraeus’ microwave-powered UV curing system for wire and cable, the DRC System, includes:
