Heraeus Medical Components opens a new state-of-the-art site in Germany

HANAU, Germany, September 9th, 2022 – Heraeus Medical Components, an industry-leading contract medical device design and development manufacturer, opened its new state-of-the-art site in Germany on Friday, September 9th.

Heraeus Medical Components Hanau Site Opening

The site, located in Hanau, a suburb of Frankfurt, currently manufactures components, micro-components, sensors, and coatings for medical devices in the neuromodulation, vascular, and cardiac rhythm management markets. This new site enables Heraeus Medical Components to deepen its partnerships and bring more long-term manufacturing projects to this location, which hosts production, quality, and engineering teams.

This new facility, which will consolidate several existing work areas on the Hanau campus, expands Heraeus Medical Component’s presence in Hanau to 108,000 square feet (10,000 square meters). The site will employ up to 450 team members and represents a significant investment by Heraeus.

Stefan Dahlhaus, Senior Vice President and Head of Operations for the Hanau site, states, “This new facility will allow for the expansion of projects, partnerships, and offerings while using the technologies in our new building to increase efficiencies through automation. Our teams are dedicated, experienced, and thrilled for the opportunity to expand what we currently offer here in Hanau, deliver for our customers, and I am excited to lead these efforts.”

Peter Reimer, President of Heraeus Medical Components, sees this new site as an investment in the company’s future. He states, “Heraeus Medical Components is a fast-growing company with a great vision: to improve 100 million lives each year. To meet and exceed this vision, we need to grow, and growth requires investment. The investment in this new building will allow us to expand our capacity to bring in newly developed projects and continue to increase scalability to ensure we are staying cost-competitive. Our new state-of-the-art facility is a win-win for our partners and our teams, and it will strengthen our company’s position as a global medical device innovator.”

The building’s grand opening officially marks the transition of operations from the old facility to the new building. It will be followed by a family day for all employees and their families on Saturday, September 10th.
