Improving the interface between electrodes and human tissue
Amplicoat® optimizes the interface between human tissue and the electrode through lower impedance, improved signal fidelity, increased charge injection capacity, lower power requirements and reduced stimulation threshold.
Amplicoat® can enable electrode miniaturization, to provide higher electrode density, greater tissue-sensing resolution and more localized stimulation control.
Amplicoat® is:
- Used clinically on FDA-cleared and CE-Mark-approved devices
- A proprietary, ISO 10993 biocompatible, durable conductive coating for electrodes
- Available for commercialization and licensing for medical devices
- Manufactured under an ISO 13485-certified quality system
Heraeus’ electro-conductive polymer coatings can be applied to a variety of medical electrode materials, including:
- Platinum
- MP35N®
- Iridium
- Gold
- Titanium
- Tungsten
- Stainless Steel
- Nitinol
- Silicon
Amplicoat® is deposited via electrodeposition. This quick, safe and easy process can accommodate components or assemblies.
