How Heraeus made it to the Moon

After landing on the Moon Buzz Aldrin puts up the laser retroreflector made of fused silica from Heraeus. Thanks to this device it’s possible to measure the exact distance between Earth and Moon to this day. In our video Dr. Ralf Takke recounts what kind of efforts were necessary to accomplish this feat – and Dr. Kathrin Wissel-Stoll explains the ongoing relevance of this successful experiment for Heraeus and the scientific community.
