The user profiles can, in turn, be used to place advertisements, for example in and outside of platforms, which supposedly correspond to the user's interests. For such purposes, cookies that record the user's behaviour and interests are usually stored on the user's computer. In addition, data in the user profiles may also be stored separately from the users' devices (especially if the users are members of the respective platforms and are logged in to them). The processing of users' personal data is based on our legitimate interests in providing effective information to users and communicating with them. If users are asked by the respective providers to consent to data processing (e.g. give their consent by clicking a checkbox or pressing a button), the legal basis of the processing is consent.
