GAITHERSBURG, MD

HNG donates to RedCross US

The employees of Heraeus Noblelight America raised $1,000 for local Red Cross chapter. Board Chair, Mark Banta and Jessica Adams, board member of the Montgomery, Howard and Frederick Counties Chapter of the American Red Cross visited Heraeus Noblelight America’s Gaithersburg, MD headquarters to accept the financial donation from Denny Hartmann, Operations Manager and Jim McMahon, VP of Sales for Heraeus Noblelight America. This Red Cross chapter is part of the American Red Cross of the National Capital & Greater Chesapeake Region headquartered in Fairfax, VA.

“We are most appreciative of this donation from Heraeus Noblelight. Financial support from local companies enables us to deliver urgent humanitarian supplies and services to more people locally which is especially important with the ever increasing number and scope of disaster emergencies we respond to, in addition to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic”, noted Mr. Banta. “Their #WeFightForYourHealth campaign was one of the most creative and fun ways I’ve seen a company raise donations.”

#WeFightForYourHealth campaign to improve health and wellbeing

Heraeus Noblelight employs over 150 people at the Gaithersburg, MD and Buford, GA manufacturing facilities where they produce UV curing systems and infrared ovens. The company also produces the Soluva® line of UVC (UVGI) air disinfection devices which fight against airborne transmission of COVID-19 pathogens and other viruses in commercial buildings.

“Our Soluva UVC air disinfection products improve the health and wellbeing of building occupants, but as the pandemic continued on we wanted to do more to improve the wellbeing of those in the local communities where we operate across the globe. The #WeFightForYourHealth campaign grew out of this desire”, said Mr. Hartmann.

Employee involvement drives donation funds

During the fourth quarter of 2021 employees were encouraged to post a photo or video of themselves wearing their campaign t-shirt onto Instagram or LinkedIn using the hashtag #WeFightForYourHealth. With every post, Heraeus Noblelight donated a specified amount to a charity chosen in each region. The Heraeus Noblelight America’s team chose the American Red Cross since its mission is closely aligned with the theme of wellbeing and easily recognized by all employees. Employees posted images of themselves working, exercising, enjoying their pets, with their Christmas decorations, and even donating blood at a Red Cross blood drive!
