UV-C (UVGI) air disinfection with Air D

Safe in buildings with forced-air HVAC systems

Whether production area, hotel, public institution, offices, museum or airport - with our Air D we provide the ideal solution for disinfecting air in large rooms or buildings with forced-air heating and cooling systems. Also for clean rooms and areas with low temperatures.

Air D system disinfects without chemicals, quickly and easily using ultraviolet radiation, sometimes called ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI). The disinfection of the air contributes considerably to reduced risk of infection and the wellbeing of occupants. The Air D in-duct disinfection modules fit into any supply air ductwork system. The UV-C (UVGI) lamps from Noblelight are particularly powerful, low maintenance, ozone free and durable.

UV air disinfection in production facilities, offices and other areas

UV air disinfection in production facilities, offices and other areas

Studies show: The risk of infection in open-plan offices is high. Distances cannot always be maintained at production sites.

Indoor air hygiene plays a major role. Intensive, proper ventilation helps reduce the risk of infection in rooms used by multiple people.

However, proper ventilation can be difficult to implement. Therefore, the risk of infection increases significantly in poorly ventilated rooms or those that cannot be ventilated. Some buildings must operate ventilation in recirculation mode for energy efficiency or air purity reasons. Here, too, the risk of infection increases greatly.

In other cases, increasing or adding filtration media into the supply air ducts may not be possible due to limited supply air fan capacity.

Air disinfection by means of UV-C (UVGI) light is the most effective and economical technology - and Air D is the best in-duct system for forced-air heating and cooling systems.

Air D - The ideal UV-C air disinfection system for air conditioning systems

Air D - The ideal UV-C air disinfection system for air conditioning systems

Air D disinfects the air using high-energy UV-C light and offers the ideal solution for air disinfection in supply air ductwork because it doesn’t just filter viruses out of the air, but destroys the virus.

  • Air D works with UV-C light with  exactly 254 nm wavelength , perfect for destroying corona viruses and their mutations without producing ozone.
  • Air D is an in-duct solution and ideally suited for retrofitting into existing supply air ductwork systems. Air D has considerable advantages over HEPA filters
  • The units can be installed into existing ducts with little effort - This also reduces installation times
  • Due to their slim profile, there is no pressure loss in the system – supply air fans can run as usual
  • Air D modules also work in humid environments with up to 85% humidity

Simple assembly and maintenance of the Air D system:

Install Air D into existing supply air ducts easily and quickly.

If openings already exist in the ducts, then only the power cable needs to be laid and the control module installed nearby.

When changing lamps, wear protective gloves to protect against possible glass breakage - nothing more is necessary. This is a significant advantage over HEPA filters.

Dispose of used lamps as you do all other fluorescent lamps following local, state and federal requirements for disposal.

Other advantages of the Air D system:

  • No protective sleeve needed, therefore no loss of radiation intensity & lower cost
  • Ideal wavelength of 254 nanometers to destroy all germs
  • Germicidal effect proven by several  scientific studies
  • Safest and cleanest solution for air disinfection
  • Already in use in many ventilation systems worldwide
  • Manufactured in Germany by a market-leading company with over 120 years of experience in UV technology

Air D modules:

Air D modules are available in four different lengths for installation in all common supply air ducts. The modular system design enables the installation of several modules next to each other to achieve the required radiation dose.

We take care of the configuration. Based on the dimensions of the ducts and the air velocities, we determine the size and number of modules and design of the control unit.
